Culture Catch and Napapijri are pleased to continue our Film Salon series. (Click to see photos and video from this event.)
More than just meeting a director or actor and then screening a movie, this monthly in-store event affords a select group of invited VIP New Yorkers an unprecedented opportunity to discuss in an informal and casual setting the impact of a movie and the cultural significance it may or may not have on our society. We're looking for the integrity of the film and filmmaker(s) and their symbiotic relationship with our brands.
If you're not invited, chances are you will not get in.
No, we're not culture snobs - well, maybe just a little bit - but space is tight in this beautiful Italian-based sportswear retailer's Napapijri Soho store at 149 Mercer Street (between Prince & Houston), NYC 10012, 212-431-4490.
Each event will start with drinks and light food, an interview by Dusty Wright with either the director and/or star of the movie, private screening of the movie, and a chance to discuss it in detail afterwards.
Our next event is scheduled for Thursday, February 7th from 7 - 10 pm with special guest actor/musician Kevin Bacon screening the critically-lauded drama The Woodsman.
"...we have Mr. Bacon's complex, unsettling performance, a reminder of the power of screen acting to illuminate even the darkest of souls, and to bring us closer to people we might otherwise do everything possible to avoid." NY Times

great event.
Dusty and Rich,
You guys did a great job and i highly recommend these events if you are lucky enough to get a pass ;-) I thought the post interview w Kevin really shed light on the feelings he had while doing the film and I really liked hearing how he gets ready for his roles, esp this one which is so tough to play. Too bad we couldn't get his wife as well. Next time.
i wrote a blog article about the event as well if you want to check it out.

Great Event
Hi Richard,
I liked the Kevin Bacon very much. Would appreciate it if you guys kept me on the list for events or anything in the future.
Great to get the actor's view on the movie. These initiatives are too rare in general so great to have any opportuniy to discuss and dig in deeper to the interpretation of the movie. Any upcoming events?
Do you have any other activities I can look up? I am very interested.
Great job!
All the best
Mia
Thanks
Hi Richard,
Thanks for connecting. The event on Thursday was great. I'm glad I got to see the film, it isn't something I would have rented on my own so it was good to see it with a live audience. Kevin was great too as was the parmesean truffle popcorn!
Please do keep me posted regarding future events - esp. the Susie Essman event. I love her and Curb is one of my favorites!
Best, Sara
