Sing For China Charity Music Salon

sing-for-china-logoCulture Catch and Bennett Media Studios Present: Sing For China AIDS Benefit, Thursday, September 24th at 7 PM at The Center. This salon will feature performances by Hedgehog, Queen Sea Big Shark, and Casino Demon; three of China’s biggest and best indie-rock bands. The U.S. tour is being produced by Modern Sky Records of Beijing, China's largest independent record label. All proceeds from this event will be donated to help children orphaned by AIDS in China.

If you'd like to attend this event, please RSVP immediately as space is limited. Suggested donation to attend is $20.

Coturri Brothers Wine Salon

coturri_brothersCulture Catch, Ed Bennett, and the Organic Wine Journal co-hosted a private wine tasting and salon with Tony Coturri of Coturri Winery on Friday, May 15th. Adam Morganstern and Greg Wacks from the Organic Wine Journal invited a group of VIP New Yorkers to sample some of Tony's most beloved reds plus his killer "cloudy" Sauvignon Blanc. Tony talked about how he and his brother Phil, who have been making wine for over 30 years, belief wholeheartedly in the biodynamic winemaking process. A process that was mostly the norm before adding additional sulfites were introduced into wine making at the turn of the 20th century.

Les Gelb Book Salon - Morning Joe

les_gelbCULTURE CATCH & DL21C presented a book salon Thursday evening, May 14th at The Center with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Leslie H. Gelb read, discussed, and signed his new book Power Rules. The discussion was moderated by MSNBC's "Morning Joe" co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

This extraordinary event afforded a select group of invited guests an unprecedented opportunity to listen and discuss in an informal and casual setting the impact of this must-read book. Inspired by Machiavelli's classic The Prince, Mr. Gelb offered a common sense approach to foreign policy.

Barney Hoskyns Book Salon - Tom Waits

He'll read from his new Tom Waits bio Lowside of the Road: A Life of Tom Waits. The salon discussion will be moderated by CC co-founder and host Dusty Wright.

This extraordinary event affords a select group of invited guests an unprecedented opportunity to meet Mr. Hoskyns and wax poetic about Mr. Waits. The evening begins with a private podcast interview by host Dusty Wright, followed by the Salon and a private concert by world-famous guitarist GARY LUCAS performing Tom Waits covers.

Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) is a word processor who experiences a hellish and seemingly endless night on the seedy streets of NYC's SoHo village; broke, frenzied and at his rope's end he is thrust into the increasingly upsetting and often outlandish lives of a variety of ensemble characters. A sequence of misfortunes, coupled with misunderstandings and tragedies threaten Paul's safety and sanity while he attempts to get back to his apartment, uptown.
